Zookers 5404 Carpinteria Ave. 805-684-8893 Zookers boasts generous portions of eclectic California cuisine with fresh fish and local produce. Delicious burgers, chicken and pastrami sandwiches, tofu saute, rib eye steaks and rack of lamb come with pita chips and creamy hummus.
Corktree Cellars 910 Linden Ave. 805-684-1400 A wine bar with a casual atmosphere, cozy Corktree Cellars' well-rounded menu is great for dinner, a snack, or simply to sample a wide variety of wines. Wine flights with fun names like “Drawing a Blanc” include three contrasting wines of the same kind.
Giannfranco's Trattoria 666 Linden Ave. 805-684-0720 With a massive menu of paninis, pastas, risotto, salmon and short ribs, Giannfranco's Trattoria is the place to go for an authentic home-cooked Italian dinner and charming homeland Italy ambiance. Desserts, including tiramisu, hazelnut tortes and rum babas, are made in the kitchen daily.
Clementine's Steak House 4631 Carpinteria Ave. 805-684-5119 In a nostalgic, old-timey atmosphere, Clementine's serves hearty helpings of steak, fried chicken, salmon, prime rib and vegetarian casserole. Every meal is topped off with a big slice of fresh fruit pie.
Cajun Kitchen Cafe 865 Linden Ave. 805-684-6010 Cajun Kitchen Cafe offers a mix of breakfast foods and Cajun cooking, including gumbo egg omelets, jambalaya with eggs, blueberry pancakes, Louisiana sausage, cornbread with apple butter, and pork chops with gravy.
Giovanni's Pizza 5003 Carpinteria Ave. 805-684-8288 Giovanni's has a laid back family atmosphere and karaoke nights, serving pizza and other Italian staples, including antipasti, ravioli, along with pitchers of soda and beer. There is seating indoors, next to vintage video game machines, as well as an extensive outdoor seating section.
Tony's Restaurant 699 Linden Ave. 805-684-3413 Tony's Restaurant promises Italian dinners with homemade sauces made from scratch including manicotti, shrimp scampi, lasagna and pizza, as well as barbecue ribs, burgers and a salad bar.Tony's also delivers.
Delgado's Mexican Food 4401 Carpinteria Ave. 805-684-4822 Lively and popular with locals, Delgado's serves up hearty Southern Mexican meals including chile rellenos, enchiladas, burritos and tortas, great with drinks like Cadillac margaritas or Dos Equis. A kids menu is available along with crayons.
The Spot 389 Linden Ave. 805-684-6311 A classic beach dive burger joint just one block from the beach, The Spot is fast and friendly, offering flavorful burgers, hot dogs, caramelized pastrami, chili cheese fries and onion rings. Shake flavors include banana, chocolate and vanilla.
The Worker Bee Cafe 973 Linden Ave. 805-745-1828 Charming and kitschy, The Worker Bee Cafe's walls are adorned with bees and quirky country decor. Breakfasts and home cooking are the specialty, including omelets, chicken fried steak, corned beef hash, and biscuits and gravy.
The Palms 701 Linden Ave. 805-684-3811 The Palms is a steakhouse where customers choose their entree and then cook their orders of raw cuts of steak and chicken themselves. An unlimited salad bar, baked potatoes, bread and baked beans are also popular, along with a wide selection of wines.
Hugos Restaurant 1049 Casitas Pass Rd. 805-566-2134 An old-school diner fused with Asian staples, Hugos Restaurant serves bacon fried rice, chorizo breakfast burritos, vegetable stir fries, spicy chicken bowls and eggs Benedict. Breakfast and lunch are served all day, and the restaurant provides free wi-fi.
Esau's Coffee Shop 507 Linden Ave. 805-684-1070 A charming seaside cafe with outdoor seating, Esau's dishes up generous portions of high quality food. Their hearty breakfasts include thick cut Canadian bacon, buttermilk pancakes, jalapeno scrambles, cornflake french toast and eggs Benedict.
Tacos To Go @ Beach Liquor 794 Linden Ave. 805-684-2919 The best taqueria in town is oddly placed inside a liquor store. Beach Liquor is famous with the locals for its unbeatable meat, veggie and breakfast burritos, tacos, rellenos and taquitos. On a grill in the back of the store, meats are marinated and then grilled to perfection before being served.
Sushi Teri 970 Linden Ave. 805-745-1314 Recently renovated, Sushi Teri offers customers the choice of dining room, sushi bar and beverage bar. Fresh sushi rolls, tempura and edamame are popular orders, along with a beer or sake.
Island Brewing Company 5049 6th St. 805-745-8272 A family-oriented microbrewery, Island Brewing Company features a variety of award-winning flavorful ales. Customers can enjoy the view and ambiance of the ocean and train tracks from Island as well as art from local artists on the walls. The Tropical Lager, Avocado Honey Ale, Long Island IPA and Paradise Pale Ale are favorites.
Reynaldo's Mexican Bakery 895 Linden Ave. 805-684-4981 Reynaldo's Mexican Bakery offers great breakfasts, lunches and aromatic baked goods in a charming atmosphere with friendly people. Reynaldo's is best known, however, for the tamales. The two-dollar burrito is served piping hot with quality chorizo, potatoes and eggs. Desserts include apple fritters, donuts, cookies and cupcakes.
Siam Elephant Thai Restaurant 509 Linden Ave. 805-684-2391 Siam Elephant has a large menu of Thai entrees, with options for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. The pumpkin curry, pad thai, spring rolls and chicken satay are local favorites. For dessert, the fried bananas with ice cream is popular, as well as the sticky rice with mangoes.
Rusty's Pizza Parlor 5250 Carpinteria Ave. 805-564-1111 Rusty's serves old-style brick oven pizzas with fresh produce toppings, all made daily in their kitchen. Customers enjoy fresh salads from the salad bar to complement the pizza. Rusty's has a great atmosphere for kids, including several arcade games like Ms Pacman.
Cabo's Baja Grill & Cantina 5096 Carpinteria Ave. 805-684-5507 Whether it's a cozy family dinner or a few margaritas on the patio, Cabo's provides an authentic Mexican cultural experience. The grilled fish tacos are popular, as well as the burritos, shrimp tacos, quesadillas and combo plates.
Señor Frog's 892 Linden Ave. 805-684-9352 With a quaint and welcoming dining atmosphere, Señor Frog's offers traditional Mexican food and attentive, friendly service. Nachos, fajitas, and meat and veggie burritos are popular with patrons. The bar offers a variety of tequilas and elegant margarita concoctions.
